Innocence
Series: Do Everything in Love (3 of 4)
Deers are gentle and graceful creatures, often said to appear when the heart is in need of healing. They symbolize heart intelligence, tenderness, and renewal — a quiet reminder that there is strength in softness and beauty in vulnerability.
I’m especially drawn to the way a deer sheds and regrows its antlers, a powerful symbol of resilience, growth, and the ability to begin again. As I painted Innocence, I focused on capturing that peaceful, open-hearted energy — the kind that continues to trust, even after being tested.
Like every piece in the Do Everything in Love series, a heart lives within the deer, representing love as the foundation beneath every emotion and experience.
The series takes its name from the scripture:
“Do everything in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14
Because I’m fascinated by how imagery speaks to the subconscious, each background in this series carries the symbolic traits of its subject. For Innocence, these qualities include:
Longevity, Strength, Graceful, Protective, Clever, Gentleness, Protection, Elegant, Delicate, Nimble, Innocence, Magnificent, Loyal, Agile, Keen-Sighted, Intuition, Alert, Intelligent, Quiet, Safety, Beautiful, Regal, Calm, and Unconditional Love.
This piece is a gentle reminder that healing doesn’t require hardness — it happens when we allow ourselves to remain open, tender, and true.
